Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal data Studio RED ("we", "us") collects through studioredbolton.co.uk, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We're a small business based in Bolton, England, and we keep this as plain as we can.
Who we are
Studio RED is based at Redbridge Industrial Estate, Breightmet Fold Lane, Bolton, BL2 5PH.
For contact, use the callback option on our Studio page or email francisstranger@gmail.com. We do not publish a public phone number; confirmed paying users receive the appropriate contact number in their booking/payment confirmation. We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect
- Studio booking requests: name, email address, and phone number if you choose to give it, plus the booking details you enter (date, duration, service type, any notes).
- Availability blocks: privacy-safe calendar data such as date, start time, duration and generic unavailable labels. These are used so users can see availability without seeing another customer's personal details.
- Account profile: artist/DJ name, real name, social links where provided, waiver status, referral details and your exact date of birth for birthday-package planning, customer rewards and account records.
- Store purchases: handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive your name, email address, order details and payment status so we can provide downloads and account support — we never see or store your full card details. Membership requests are currently handled manually after you submit an enquiry.
- Marketing preferences: where you opt in to marketing or where the law allows us to contact existing customers about similar Studio RED products and services, we keep the relevant record and provide an opt-out route.
We do not ask for anything beyond what's needed to fulfil your booking or order. Analytics only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner; advertising cookies are not active at this time — see Cookies below.
How we use it
- To respond to and confirm studio booking requests.
- To process orders and deliver digital downloads through our store.
- To identify birthday-package eligibility, customer rewards and relevant account offers using the date of birth saved on your profile.
- To send you marketing about Studio RED studio offers and new releases where you've opted in, or where the law allows us to contact existing customers about similar products and you haven't opted out.
- To keep basic records for accounting and legal compliance.
Our lawful basis
We rely on: contract (to process your booking or order), consent (for marketing emails you've opted into), and legitimate interests (for the limited "soft opt-in" marketing allowed under UK law to existing customers about similar products, where you've been given a clear way to opt out).
Who we share it with
- Stripe — to process store payments. Stripe is PCI-compliant and we never see your full card details. Membership payments are temporarily handled manually/offline.
- Cloudflare — our hosting and infrastructure provider, which stores and serves our website and booking data.
- Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send booking confirmations and download links.
- Web3Forms — used to deliver callback form submissions to us by email.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
Booking enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you book again, then deleted. Order records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires (currently up to 6 years). Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe, plus a short period afterwards so we can prove we honoured your request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you and why (right of access)
- Correct inaccurate data (right to rectification)
- Delete your data, where there's no legal reason for us to keep it (right to erasure)
- Stop using your data for marketing at any time (right to object) — every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can just reply and ask
- Give you a copy of your data in a portable format (right to data portability)
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We'll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to remember your cart, login state and cookie preference. Analytics is consent-gated: if you choose Accept in the cookie banner, the site can record basic page and conversion events so Studio RED can improve booking, membership and store journeys. Advertising cookies are not active at this time.
Security
Our site is served over HTTPS, our hosting infrastructure is provided by Cloudflare, and store payments are handled by Stripe — we never store full payment card details ourselves. Membership requests are reviewed manually by Studio RED.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make significant changes, we'll make that clear on the site.
Membership, projects and analytics
Studio RED may use account, booking, birthday, referral, callback, quote, project and private members area request information to manage memberships, plan services, produce internal sales reports and improve the customer experience. Project and member request data is used to understand what support, opportunities, private events, promo days, partner/affiliate access or booking interest a member has, and to prepare relevant quotes or follow-up.
Account notifications
Studio RED may show account notifications inside your dashboard for membership updates, event polls, private members area reminders, booking opportunities, quotes, loyalty rewards and important service information. These messages are part of the account experience and are separate from wider email marketing.
